Artcento works mostly for galleries and auction houses in Paris, such as Galerie Turquin, Drouot, Gros & Delettrez, Pescheteau-Badin, Ader. Working with these Artcento clients Rita collected many different and interesting catalogues, magazines and paper materials from this environment.
The idea is that using both of these extreme social visuals we can discuss and reflect about the polarization of the centre of the city and its outskirts. We know that the mass force people and invisible production lives outside the city and works at “invisible” hours.
This project aims at making the outskirts as important and visible as the centre, creating this collaborative giant collage scenography that will be donated at the Association La Maison du Canal 10éme — La Gange and used as a scenography for its events and live music performances.

In order to create this unique collaborative piece I’m developing Visual Composition Workshops based on cadavre exquis* exercices. With individuals, institutions, companies and everyone who wants to be part of this gesture regardless of their age and condition.
*Cadavre exquis or Exquisite Corpse is an art technique invented by the surrealists. Surrealism principal founder André Breton reported that it started for fun, but became playful and eventually enriching. The name is derived from a phrase that resulted when Surrealists first played the game, "Le cadavre exquis boira le vin nouveau." ("The exquisite corpse shall drink the new wine." Henry Miller often played the game to pass time in French cafés during the 1930s. It is a method by which a collection of words or images is collectively assembled. Each collaborator adds to a composition in sequence, either by following a rule or by being allowed to see only the end of what the previous person contributed.
